Today, the demand for power is fueling the momentum of change, a change which is shaping the economic stability and growth of almost all the countries. To stay ahead in the fast changing world requires the ability to look beyond the present. Europe especially Switzerland has emerged as the center for cleaner and greener energy source, with all the latest research and development happening here. My country, India is also caught in the 'wind' for change creating exciting opportunities for youngsters of my generation. Indians are proving the worth of their merit and diligence on world platforms. The caliber to match international parameters is the vital need of the hour. This has motivated me to pursue a Master's course in Electrical Engineering at your university. XYZ  is the university where great scholars have studied. You have the best research facilities, most sophisticated and modern laboratories, and a dynamic curriculum which gives a variety of options to choose the course best suit, which will enable me to understand and apply modern techniques to meet different needs. Your faculty does not only teach what is known but actively contributes to the growth of new knowledge. Education at your institute will equip me to keep pace with the technological revolution.
I want to learn to grow in the challenging field of energy science and its related industries. I want to understand the intricacies of the wide spectrum of power system and the allied field of sustainable energy sources. With the recent developments in smart grids which is making the 'impossible' of yesterday, a reality of today and going beyond to create a new tomorrow. My ambition is to focus on a career aimed at contributing to research and development in the arena of energy systems and technology. Your training will develop my expertise to manage the vital aspects of this ever growing technology with the capability to adapt, assimilate and add on new dimensions of my own.
My academic record throughout has been outstanding. I have secured 90% in the 10th standard which earned me a honor from CBSE board as an award for academic excellence in 2004.I secured 80% in the Science stream (comprising Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in the 12th standard and got admission to Electrical and electronics engineering in VIT university which is ranked among top 15 technical universities in India. My academic performance continued to flourish at VIT and I passed with an overall aggregate of 83.7% within top 20 students in the department.
My schedule at engineering college was filled with intense study and focused work for research and a variety of technical projects. I was an active member of the SEDS, VIT one of its kinds of student chapter dedicated towards space exploration. I was also an active member of IETE student chapter initiated towards development of Electronics and telecommunication engineering. I was one of the main organisers for national workshop on "power system communication, quality and high voltage engineering" in 2010 being held for the 1st time in our college. I was heading the documentation team for RIVIERA'09, international cultural and sports fest, considered one of the biggest in India, held in our college.
As part our course mini project I worked on "hardware modelling of single phase cycloconverters" which has potential to develop as practical implication where we can control the pulse to get the desired frequency output. I have also worked on developing a “vehicle positioning system” with a GUI using the display drivers. The whole simulation was created on Lab View, one of the most modern simulation tools in power engineering. For the final year thesis, I got selected for internship in IIIT, Hyderabad where I worked on complete study of installation, relay settings, metering & monitoring function for the relay SEL-751A (Feeder Protection Relay) and developing a test bench to validate the time overcurrent relay characteristic. Also the project involved developing a method so as to detect HIF conditions of any type using a zero resistance characteristic for the relays.
One of the most important phases of my education took place on the sports fields. Training in sports has taught me the value of discipline, rigorous practice and teamwork. My coach taught me to rise again after every fall, which helped me to face setbacks in life with courage and the ability to 'try again and again'. Fair play and sportsmanship prepared me to win the battles of life on the basis of merit alone.
After college, I have joined Accenture as a software engineer.  Being a student of electrical engineering, it was a difficult phase for me but through rigorous effort and learning, I have developed myself as a key resource and also enhanced my behavioral and professional aspects to mold myself into the corporate world. During my course of stay in Accenture, I worked for Farmers Commercial IA project for Zurich North America and got a chance to extensively work in Insurance domain and develop firm understanding for C, C++ and VB Script. Learning these programming languages will prove handful while understanding and preparing programming codes related to core electrical inputs.
During every summer vacations, I worked for motivational camps in villages as an agriculturist's aid to help farmers understand best practices followed in agricultural science. I took on the challenge to introduce them to the world of horticulture, cross breeding programs for cattle, and health and hygiene, which was hitherto, something they never cared for. This brought out my creativity and taught me to share my knowledge with others. I sincerely hope that my dedication towards excellence in whatever I do, along with my outstanding academic records, qualify me for admission to your institute with a financial aid to help me excel even better. I look forward to creating my own niche in the international family of students at your school. I believe that every experience will add to my all round education and prepare me for the future.
